2.stare

He stared his children into silence. 他用眼睛瞪着小孩，使他们静下来。

固定短语：
stare sb. down 盯得某人不得在对视下去；
stare sb . in the face 盯着某人的脸看；

stare sb up and down 上下打量某人。
